Episode 6: One Man Wrecking Ball

The twists kept coming this in this week's episode. Welcome back everyone. Galang returned to camp worried about Laura M's bitterness when she was voted out. At Redemption Island, Galang's plan came to fruition when Laura M destroyed the competition to win the duel. John then beat Brad by a matter of seconds to completely eliminate him from the game. Laura M then gave Vytas an idol clue, which he immediately burned. In a way, I think them constantly burning the clues is a waste, considering the only reason John got a target for them was because Brad made a big deal out of it. After the residents of RI leave, the tribes are shuffled by random draw. Tyson elects to get the last bamboo tube so that he can't wish he had grabbed a different one. It's revealed that Vytas is the only man at Galang, and Ciera is the only woman at Tadhana. Tyson, Gervase, and Aras instantly irritate Hayden by constantly eating their food supply. Tyson also immediately attempts to turn everyone against Aras socially since that's his next target.

At the Immunity challenge, Tadhana quickly take a lead when Tina and Laura B failed to bring their fishing trap to shore and have to go back for it. Although Galang made up a lot of time on the puzzle, it wasn't enough. Tadhana managed to pull out a win.

Back at camp, Kat tries to target Monica for over-strategizing, but Tina and Katie immediately took the news back to Monica. The rest of Galang then debates whether to stick with the original plan to take Vytas out and keep their women's alliance together, or take out Kat for trying to split them up.

At Tribal Council, things get heated between Kat and Vytas about which of them will be leaving. Once the votes are cast, Kat is sent off to Redemption Island with a vote of 5 to 1.

As always, the tribe shuffle has successfully screwed with people's strategies. Tyson no longer has the majority of his tribe in his back pocket, Monica is firmly in control of Galang, Katie immediately re-attached her umbilical cord to her mother and left Vytas out to dry. As it stands, I'm sure that it will either be Aras or Vytas to go next week. Vytas is the clear target at Galang, while Tyson is immediately putting his plan to take out Aras into action at Tadhana. If this happens, Katie and Tina will be the only loved ones left. This is rather disappointing since I was hoping blood vs. water would come into play more at the merge. I think Tyson and Monica are both sitting in the best position to go far in the game, depending on which tribe is in the majority when they merge.

What do you think? Do you agree or disagree with my views? Let me know in the comments below! Also, don't forget to vote in the poll on the right. This week, Aras vs. Vytas. Until next week, the tribe has outspoken! :-)

Episode 5: The Dead Can Still Talk

Hello loyal readers, and people who stumbled here accidentally. This week, was another great episode to look into. Tadhana returns to camp in shock at what they just did, while Hayden wonders if he and Vytas are now on the outs since they still voted for Ciera.

At Redemption Island, Candice is awoken by the greatest voice she could hear at RI, Brad Culpepper. He immediately tries to bury the hatchet with her and John, but neither of them are buying into it. The next morning at the duel, John proceeds to come out on top again, but after many hard-fought battles, Candice comes in last and has to leave her husband on RI. John half-heartedly gives Monica another idol clue, which she immediately burns for the second time.

Back at camp, the loved ones open up about the minor injuries they've sustained, but they still come together on top of a gorgeous cliff to give themselves a pep talk for the next immunity challenge. Monica takes the time to try and ensure her safety at Galang since she knows that she might not have Brad to fall back on at the merge. This only worries her majority alliance that she won't work with them later on.

At the immunity challenge, Laura M and Monica are upset that they are forced to sit out. Laura B decides is a good argument to try and use against them later when Tadhana wins their first immunity and steak to go with it. Tyson, Aras, and Gervase discuss taking out Laura M because they figure she could beat Brad at Redemption Island, so that Monica has nowhere to turn to except the majority alliance later on.

When tribal council rolls around, Laura M firmly believes that it's Laura B going home because she's the inexperienced one in their tribe. This leads to yet another blindside, as Laura M is sent to Redemption Island.

I was right on my belief that Caleb would be the "Big Kahuna" at Tadhana, but we'll have to see how that plays out better in weeks to come. Also, Tyson and Gervase are still sitting pretty at Galang, with Aras, Tina, and Monica doing their bidding. Everything is about to change however. From what the preview hinted at, there is potentially going to be a tribe switch next week. But before that happens, I wonder if Ciera might take her mother's place at Redemption Island. She knows she's the next to go if Tadhana loses, so she may just sacrifice herself in hopes that Laura M can be more of an asset to Tadhana.

What do you think will happen? Let me know in the comments below. Also, don't forget to vote in the weekly poll at the right. Until next week, the tribe has outspoken! :-)

Episode 4: One-Armed Dude and Three Moms

Holy cow! What an episode! Brad says the reason John was a good target is because he didn't have a loved one at Galang. That definitely didn't stop Candice from flipping him off and saying, "F**k you, Brad Culpepper!" as they entered Redemption Island for the duel. I know everyone watching had to be thinking the same thing before this duel. Would it be John or Candice to take their own loved one out of the game. But in the end, our question was left in suspense as Marissa came in last and was sent packing. Since John won the duel, he decided to give Monica the clue for an idol. But Monica feared a target being put on her back, however, and at her husband's insistence, burned it without opening it at the stadium.

Back at the Galang camp, we learn that Tyson and  Gervase have been bonding in the coconut grove. They like to wander off and secretly have a few coconuts together.

Meanwhile at Tadhana, Caleb is worried for his own safety because of Brad's reasoning about John. With Colton completely out of the game, there would be no recoil from someone else for eliminating Caleb. There is also talk about Ciera being the next target due to her poor performance in challenges.

Tadhana's loyalties are put to the test when they once again lose the immunity challenge. Caleb, Hayden, and Vytas make plans to vote out Ciera while waiting for Brad to join them. Meanwhile, Brad is sitting with Ciera and Katie trying to convince them to vote out Caleb. As soon as he joins the other guys, he agrees to vote out Ciera instead, but none of the guys are totally buying into it.

When Tadhana reaches Tribal Council the talk turns to Brad's actions and the heat he has taken for them. Caleb wastes no time telling everyone he's going to vote for Brad, shocking everybody else. This sudden announcement sways two others to vote with him, causing a tie vote between Brad and Ciera. In the re-vote, Hayden struggles with which person to vote for. He votes for Ciera, but it means nothing because Brad still has three votes against him, sending him to Redemption Island.

This episode was huge in my opinion. Caleb just came out of nowhere and gained all of the power at the Tadhana tribe. Hayden and Vytas will have full respect for him taking out Brad so quickly and easily. That took a lot of guts to throw that much caution to the wind. I think he'll also have the girls in his back pocket for that move as well. As for Monica burning the clue, I think it was a very stupid move. The only reason John had a target for it was because Brad gave him one.

As far as who I think is sitting on top, obviously I think Caleb is doing well at Tadhana, but I also think Tyson and Gervase are sitting well at Galang. Assuming their time as coconut bandits doesn't hurt them, they could be in the perfect position to win the game. They have a majority alliance in their tribe and they're at the center of it. Their next step to secure their safety is to bring a third member into their alliance. That way, they have the majority within their majority alliance. I think their best option for that would be Aras. He would be quite willing to work with them, but they need to time it just right. The best time would be after Galang's first loss hits. A lot more strategizing will be going on then, and a lot less relaxing.

What do you think? Do you agree or disagree with my opinions? Please leave a comment below with your ideas. Also, don't forget about the weekly poll on the right hand side of the page. Until next time, the tribe has outspoken! :-)

Episode 3: Opening Pandora's Box

Welcome back loyal readers! There's much to talk about this week, so let's dive right in!

This episode started with yet another reminder that Colton can't stand the peace, along with Tyson telling him to suck it up because that's how it is. Major drama takes hold at Redemption Island, mostly centered around Brad. In my opinion, he's the big villain this season. He's running the Tadhana tribe his way, which seems to be straight into the ground. Also, while sitting there, Colton breaks down in tears, and quits the game. This thoroughly pisses Jeff off. Apparently, Colton faked appendicitis in One World so he wasn't a quitter. He begged to come back this season to prove he had changed, only to show that he hadn't. He didn't even have the dignity of burning his buff in the urn. It's reserved for people who left the game fighting. Also, Tyson and Rachel decided to leave her in the duel when they knew that the plan was for Tyson to take her place, weakening Galang.

In the duel itself, Candice dominated for the second time, allowing her to give John another idol clue. 45 minutes later, Marissa beat Rachel in a matter of a few seconds apart. This makes the game officially down 2 returning players, and 1 loved one.

When Galang returns to camp, Monica gets irate that the entire Tadhana tribe and Tyson called out Brad for how he's playing this game and the target he's got on his back. Meanwhile, John decided to trust Brad with the idol clue, in hopes he may have an idea on its location.

At the immunity challenge, some of the head to head match-ups were really fun to watch. Katie lost to her mother, Tina. Aras beat his older brother, Vytas. That one had an emotional impact on me. The younger brother beat his bully of an older brother. And for Galang's immunity win, Laura M. beat her daughter Ciera.

Tadhana had the challenge of deciding whether to strike on John before he could get the idol and use it, vote out Ciera for losing both of her match-ups, or if they were tired of Brad bossing them around.

At tribal, Tadhana voted out John in a very successful blindside. To me, this was really low for Brad to pull off. He weakened his tribe that much more. He got the information he needed from John, and threw him out like yesterday's trash. This also causes John to have to face off against Candice, so that in the end, one of them will have to eliminate their own loved one. I wouldn't stoop that low for the cash prize.

At this point, if Tadhana doesn't pull off a win, Brad may be going soon. He's the one who has coordinated the voting off of each person in his tribe, despite who has been a factor in losing challenges, namely Katie and Ciera. I may consider keeping him around as a physical strength for challenges, but only under very close watch. Also, with Monica defending him, she may be putting a target on her back in her own tribe if they lose, especially since they don't have Colton to take out anymore.

As far as who's sitting pretty right now, I think it would have to be Aras and Vytas. Both of them are huge assets in their tribes, and the fight they both have lifts the spirits of everyone else.

What do you think? Do you agree or disagree with me? Make sure you leave a comment at the end of this post with your opinions. I know you all have them! Also, remember to vote in the weekly poll on the right side of the page! Until next time, The tribe has outspoken! :-)

Episode 2: Rule in Chaos

It's official. The new Colton lasted 3 days. He's already tired of the zen at Galang. He even said in an interview, "We're Galang. We're united. We're relaxed. We're STUPID!" Good to learn that old habits die hard. Colton is looking for chaos because that's what he survives on.

At the first Redemption Island duel, the castaways learn that the blood vs. water theme would be put to the test when the loved one of the person most recently voted out could take their place each time. Gervase, in his greedy and cocky way, turned down the offer. Candice, Rupert, and Marissa went on to balance spools on top of a maze set on a spring. The first two to complete the challenge would remain on Redemption Island to fight again, and the first person to finish it could give a hidden idol clue to anybody. Candice wins, and automatically gives the clue to her husband. Rupert loses and has to burn his buff as he leaves the game for good.

Back at Tadhana, the guys decide how to use the new RI twist to their advantage. They discuss possibly voting off Rachel so that Tyson would take her place. John isn't totally on board because Candice would have a hard time beating him.

The immunity challenge was very close all the way through, but Gervase managed to make up for his poor performance in the first challenge by winning immunity and fishing gear.

The big question going into Tribal Council is whether or not John found the idol. If he did, there's a good chance that Ciera, as the pawn, would go home. She schemes with Katie for both of them to vote for John so that he would go if he saved Rachel.

In the end, the guys' plan goes through and Rachel is sent to RI to fight her way back into the game.

This episode gives us a lot to think about. I don't think John has the idol yet. He wasn't looking awkward when the idol is brought up, and from what I can tell, he hasn't found enough time away from everyone to really look for it. I'm pretty sure Colton is going to be the first to go when Galang finally loses a challenge. Everyone is already tired of his gossip and bullying. Which sucks because I love to watch the complete chaos. What will Tyson do when he sees the predicament his girlfriend is in? I can't really get a read on his reaction. In the preview when he stands up and yell, "You've got no chance in hell!"  he could easily just be swearing to whoop them in every challenge until they're all gone. I also love that in the preview, Colton breaks down like he's an innocent victim in his tribe, when he's not innocent at all. Maybe he'll break a nail and demand to be med-evaced again.

Also, at the rate Tadhana is going, they won't even make the merge. The guys are scheming way too much, way too early in the game. They need to start making their decisions based on what would strengthen their tribe most, instead of punishing people for their relative's mistakes, and trying to weaken Galang.

What do you think? Do you agree or disagree with me? Please leave me some comments to address below. Also, don't forget to vote in the weekly poll in the right column of the page. This week's poll is seeing if Tyson will take Rachel's place. So, until next time, the tribe has outspoken!

Episode 1- Blood is Thicker Than Anything

Welcome back my few loyal readers for another round of Survivor! Season 27 of Survivor kicked off with a brand-new twist of blood vs. water. Basically, the two tribes are made up of returning players and their loved ones.

Some highlights of the premiere were the immediate vote by each tribe to eliminate a tribe-mate. Rupert's wife, Laura B. was immediately voted out of the Tadhana tribe, which is made up of loved ones. Meanwhile, Candice of Cook Islands and Heroes vs. Villains was immediately voted off by Galang, aka the returning players. Rupert wasted no time replacing his wife on the resurrected Redemption Island, which moved Laura B. to Galang, while Candice and her husband John decided it was better for her to compete her way back into the game over him. Brad Culpepper, who is Monica from One World's husband (and practically worshiped by Jeff) screwed himself by saying he'd sacrifice if she needed the reward challenge win. At their camps, Tyson from Tocantins and Heroes vs. Villains wasted no time getting fire started with just bamboo, and Brad wasted no time forming an obvious all guy alliance.

Rupert irritates Candice at Redemption Island by channeling his inner- Shamar, and doing absolutely no work. In his position, I can see his point of view, though. What's Candice going to do? Vote him out? He's saving his energy for challenges, while she's going to be more tired from working to take care of both of them.

At the first immunity challenge, Galang flopped at the physical part, mainly due to Gervase from Borneo's lack of physical ability. However, they made a huge, winning comeback when Katie, Ciera, and Caleb of Tadhana choked on the puzzle.

At Tribal Council, the puzzle solvers' performance meant nothing when the tribe voted Marissa to Redemption Island for her Uncle Gervase's over-celebration at the challenge, fearing that she might be cocky in the future.

It's definitely hard to gather much strategically from the first episode, but I think Brad has already put himself in a good position for now, despite his words at the tribe division, though his words could still come back to bite him in the ass later. At Galang, I think Gervase will be the first to go, after his poor performance in the challenge. He needs to prove to be an asset mentally in challenges at this point if he wants to stay around any longer. It's hard to pick someone in a good position at Galang since they won the challenge. You never see a lot of strategizing for the winning army after battle. If I had to make a prediction, I would think it's Tyson for his fire trick.

What do you think? Do you agree or disagree with me? Who stuck out to you this week? Tell me your immediate faves, and who you think is the front-runner at this point. Also, take part in the weekly poll on the right-hand side of the page. Until next week, the tribe has outspoken! :-)

Episode 14- The Finale- "Last Push"

So, the end has finally arrived. :-) I admit, my blog has been a little dry all season. I do, however, want to thank everyone who has checked it out nonetheless.

Here's the episode in a nutshell. Erik passes out returning from Tribal and gets evacuated. Cochran is the best at stacking tiles on a platform he's holding steady, and it wins him an advantage in the final immunity challenge. Sherri and Cochran both contemplate voting out Dawn. The final four take one last ride on "Vincent" to remember their fellow castaways. They then had to retrieve puzzle pieces and build a flame with them. Cochran has the advantage of his bags not being tied to the posts, helping him in a narrow victory. Eddie finally is voted out. Everyone is proud of their accomplishments at their breakfast feast. The jury is brutal to Dawn and Cochran, and completely ignore Sherri like they have all season. Brenda even forces Dawn to take out her false teeth. We also learn that Reynold is chauvinistic, vulgar, and has a great sense of humor. In the end, the jury unanimously gives the million dollars to Cochran.

During the reunion, Dawn apologized to Brenda for her actions. Brenda is stuck in Miami because she's due to have a child any day. Malcolm is a soap star. Boston Rob shamelessly promoted "The Boston Rob Rulebook" which Phillip inspired. Cochran is a sex symbol and is trying to hook up over twitter. Richard is still the biggest queer that Rudy has ever met. Malcolm is also announced as the Player of the Season, and wins $100,000. Finally, The next season of Survivor is entitled "Blood vs. Water."

So, only two questions remain. Who decided to name the boat Vincent? And what is Blood vs. Water? I think that they're going to get two members of numerous families and place them on opposite tribes. It may also be a plot to get a Russel and Brandon Hantz both back on the show. Either way, I'm willing to give it a shot.

I know many people have said that Survivor has gone way downhill, and that this season was a low point. In many ways, that's true. In many others it's not. I believe this was one of the best juries I've ever seen. The range of characters was great. From eccentric, to cocky, to focused, and fun. :-) And it's always great when someone who has always been a bit of an underdog comes out of nowhere to be a huge threat and win the game. I see myself in Cochran and Phillip both. I'm the socially awkward, geeky ginger like Cochran, and I'm also a bit eccentric like Phillip. And I'm proud of it too. I played Survivor on a smaller scale before, and I was unable to use who I am to my advantage as well as they did. If I were able to be in the same situation again, I would try to play it more like them. The only reason I placed sixth out of sixteen in my season, is because I was a free vote. I wasn't perceived as a threat, and it served me well.

As quiet as all of my readers have been, I once again want to thank you all for following me throughout the season. I hope to do this again the next time around. So, until next September, The Tribe Has Outspoken! :-)
