Episode 3- "There's Gonna Be Hell To Pay"

Episode 3 kicks off with Gota's return to camp, where Shamar starts to freak out on people who betrayed him. To me, they had just called him out on everything he did or didn't do. Eddie and Reynold decide that is was only a matter of time before he totally self-destructed. The following morning, Shamar ponders the option of just quitting the game.

The first shot of the fans is Phillip and his morning workout routine of lifting small logs, while he reminisces on times of playing football with people half his age. Malcolm and Corinne talk about working together since the other four have made pairings in their alliance. While talking, Malcolm finds the idol in Corinne's presence. Back at camp, Phillip shares the genius of putting a basket upside-down on his head to circulate the air underneath it. He then allows Cochran to try it in his "special seat." Meanwhile, Andrea is talking to Brandon about working with their alliance to take out Corinne. Brandon considers it, but has his doubts about trusting Andrea.

When we return to Gota, where Shamar has a mature conversation about wanting to choose his happiness over the million dollar prize. He discusses his time in Iraq, how he wasn't himself when he returned, and his recovery from what he had done and seen. He ultimately decides to stay to show the same loyalty to Laura and Sherri that they showed to him.

The show moves on to the immunity and reward challenge where the tribes compete for pillows, blankets, and chairs. The tribes have to race out to a giant cage in the water, open the gate underwater, and drag a very heavy trunk back to shore. Once on the shore, the tribes have to put the trunk on a track, use a grappling loop to pull pieces of the track into place, and finally lift the trunk onto a finish platform. the tribes were neck and neck through the challenge, but Bikal managed to pull their final piece of track into place one or two tries faster than Gota, capturing the win.

When Gota returns to camp, Shamar whines that Reynold wouldn't give him the goggles to go under the water. Laura thinks that she might be voted off that night, due to her lack of swimming ability in the challenge. The majority of the tribe makes a plan to split the vote between Eddie and Hope in an attempt to flush out the hidden immunity idol. A problem arises when Shamar decides that he's close to Hope and shares the entire plan with her. Hope then talks about it raising the alarm to the rest of the tribe about the plan. The tribe discusses just getting rid of Shamar to eliminate the problem, saying he can't be trusted.

Shamar becomes the main topic of the Tribal Council when the majority of the tribe calls him out. Matt believes he's just getting carried away with his attitude and stubbornness. Shamar discusses that Reynold and Eddie are on Shamar's "No Talking List." Reynold for calling Shamar out on his behavior, and Eddie for being Reynold's main follower. When the vote falls out, it's a three way tie between Eddie, Hope, and Shamar. During the revote, the vote is five for Hope and one vote from Reynold for Shamar.

I believe that Bikal has reached what's called a T-tribe status, which means for the most part, they are looking at what's best for the tribe. Meanwhile, Gota is still at an I-tribe status which is when the tribe is too busy looking at what will benefit their individual game and forgetting to look at what will get them to the individual point of the game. In this scenario, the T-tribe will always win. Looking at it from this standpoint, I believe that Eddie or Shamar will be going home next week. In the event that Bikal actually loses, I think it's going to come down to Phillip, Corinne, or Brandon.

Feel free to chime in with your thoughts and opinions! Do you agree with my views? Do you disagree? Let me know in the comments section below! Also, feel free to take part in my weekly poll in the right hand column of the page. Until next week, the tribe has outspoken!
